30 Business Brainstorming Ideas - Part 1 Sometimes you just get stuck for ideas. Your mind is empty. It makes it even more difficult to find products, if your current business or future rests on your ideas. A little help and inspiration for a new article, a new product or an entirely new company would be useless in these circumstances.
The purpose of the ideas in this paper is to get your brain thinking. The ideas may seem a bit crazy and unrealistic - almost too simple. But .... the intention is that these ideas to act as a trigger, you say something like: "This ridiculous idea, but if I move around a bit I could ..." So, use one or more of these ideas as a starting point and draw your way to a new opportunity.
1. Produce Christmas cards which are printed on the front with, for example, "Merry Christmas from the Smith family. Or, instead of the name "Smith", choose one of dozens of other popular names. Sample packets of the cards mailed directly to those listed in telephone directories.
2. Earn money from the rental of expensive toys. The toys you rent include models for remote control and computer games. Use a small van to deliver toys to customers. The truck should have a color scheme Toy Town, sirens and flashing lights. Call the van a toy mobile.
3. Introduce to your region a service which goes cards for businesses. Keep a stock of local, national and international maps. Mount these maps in a professional manner to meet the wall space available in the office. Send brochures about your services to office managers.
4. Bring a regular publication of ambitious amateur musicians. This publication might include ads from: i) employers who are looking for musicians ii) retailers who sell equipment, accessories and supplies, (iii) persons who sell used equipment. Also print interesting editorial.
5. Design and manufacture kits for making models with cocktail sticks. For example, the model churches, castles, windmills, houses, etc. Buy the cocktail sticks as unpacked bulk from a manufacturer. Sell your kits by mail order from ads in craft magazines or distribute to shops model.
6. Produce a directory of products no longer manufactured. This directory might include sections on toys, trinkets and housewares. Develop a directory of business people and inventors who want to know both what has been done before and what ideas might be revived or modified.
7. Make cotton gloves especially designed for collectors. The gloves prevent the grease acid and moisture on the fingers from getting on coins. Package the gloves and sell ads in magazines or distribute numismatic shops that sell collectible coins.
8. Bring a correspondence course on how to write cookbooks. The course may include information on how to devise recipes, how to present them in written form and what makes a successful cookbook. Produce a prospectus and advertise in magazine for women.
9. Start a company that rents out large and expensive astronomical telescopes to households who want to develop an interest in astronomy. Submit Your service local astronomy society and use local advertising to attract customers. Relationship with a telescope and get a finder's fee of 10% for those who go to buy their own telescope.
