Poker Cheater

Poker CheaterAnatomy of a cheater Poker

One day, returning in 2001 (ancient times for the online poker), a friend came to me with what was then a shocking revelation. I do not want to reveal his name, so I'll call him "Jed". My good friend Jed had found a way to cheat playing poker on the Internet. Compared to today's standards, he used a crude system, but it actually did the work. And over time, he got good.

I myself have never tried the system of Jed, because my career was going great and the online poker bug had not bitten me, but I spent much time with him at this time. Over the next few years, I saw how everything played in his life.

At first, life Jed was like a walk through the land of fairy tales. He played poker online all day, and his bankroll increases at a phenomenal rate.

Over the next few years, Jed was not afraid to spend his newly acquired money. He bought the house he always wanted, a showcase of 4 bedrooms on a half acre lake. It bought Jaguar not one, but two. He convinced the woman he loved to marry him, and he threw an extravagant wedding. (I was). During the first days of their marriage, Jed and his wife took a vacation in places like Thailand and Bali. He even bought his brother a piece of land on which to build his own house. Jed has an image of success. It seemed that the sky had opened and filled him good fortune. And there is no end in sight to the dream life, he lived.

Jump ahead four years. Trouble began to appear in autumn 2005. Jed had more money from its online efforts, but the emotion had left. He still had his beautiful home, even more beautiful than before, because it was twice redesigned. He still had his beautiful wife, now pregnant with their second child. And he still had his two Jags. On the surface, everything seemed possible. But Jed was not the same man he was.

I knew Jed, so I could see what many others could not: He was miserable. How could this be, you might ask? With all the money and excitement into his life, and all the satisfaction of beating online poker, how could he be unhappy? Well I'll tell you how. I had many long conversations with Jed, late into the night during those days. In my opinion, which had weighed on him was simply the devastating nature of error. What I am seeing is the inevitable result of a life based on (and dependent) defraud others.

One thing that all human beings need to find peace and contentment is self-esteem. There is no exception. Each of us need at least a sense of self-esteem. JED had lost hers. He felt worthless. He felt zilch contributing to the improvement of society. And indeed, his assessment was correct.

In the early days, Jed was able to mentally handle the idea that he was a cheat. The immediate rewards of his lifestyle was so new and so overwhelming that he was able to justify its actions. The money and the admiration of others allowed him to refine his mind so he ignores his inner feelings of self-loathing. If he needed to be secretly a cheater Low-Life to get all the great advantages he enjoyed, so be it.

But time has passed, the profound realization of what he was doing and the type of person he had become finally caught Jed. He could not fight against the cold, hard fact that it was morally bankrupt. Whatever the magnificent harness which he had surrounded, the undeniable truth in the heart of his being, he was no longer a lousy cheater. And that recognition, over time, has had a devastating effect on the peace of mind of Jed.

At one point, Jed told me he wanted to end his cheating ways. But neck.
