Poker Card Guard

Poker Card GuardIs it bad luck to say "good luck" in poker?

I want my husband a guard card for his birthday and I can have a hand engraved. I do not know all the superstitions in poker and I was wondering if its bad luck if I put "good luck" about it. I know he thinks about his bad luck, if we get into a fight just before he goes play, and he told me to wish him good luck but I just wanted to be sure.
Thank you

There is no industry-wide superstition against the expression "good luck" in the poker world. It's more of a superstition thing live performance. It's bad luck to say "good luck" to someone before performing before an audience, so they usually say "break a leg".

If you would normally say "good luck" to your husband before he plays poker, so it is perfectly acceptable to burn on the backing card.

Good luck this far!

I agree with NB_Bear. If it proves to be bad luck to say "good luck" then the cards are simply not in your favor that night. Beyond that, it's just a superstition or other. Good luck!
