Poker Book Report - Read 'em and Reap by Joe Navarro A while ago Annie Duke was challenged to see how she could do to decipher if a person was or not. She has participated in an experiment for The Discovery Channel along with a psychic and an FBI agent named Joe Navarro. All the skills necessary for the appearance of finding the truth behind an answering individual questions from observations of posture, tone, phrases, words and anything else they deemed valid discovery.
Navarro and Duke has done very well in this test, while the professional psychic was not as good. Hence the beginning for Duke to discover even more said that she already knew while selecting the brain Navarro and try to link some of this information to the poker table .
When Navarro did not play poker, and has not really assimilated its skills on the field. This book changes all that. Read 'em and Reap parlays Navarro scope of FBI intelligence skills in poker skills to the blind by most. Let me say here that this is far beyond the Mike Caro's book of tells in that it examines what Navarro described as part of the brain known as the limbic brain.
This part of the brain operates in a manner that responds to natural stimuli around our body, emotions usually associated with hazardous materials and protection are somewhat involuntary. How these reactions are controlled, exploited and exposed to a poker table may be feeling a key player on his hand, the community cards, and its action plan.
For most, this book is written very well, upwards so to speak. Not much humor in that, well, Joe has been an FBI agent. More precisely: it is striking about the content here, which will offer up new information and skills for the more experienced players on the market. If you play live games or tournaments, it will be very difficult to ignore the contents of this book, especially as you can imagine your opponents have this information about you.
An interesting exercise here is interesting to read the book, then go see the WPT repeats all over again. In the first episode, I selected at random, I spotted 2 shows, 1 of them was a professional player, and one on a player who has been under the table! Yeah, there are many in this book about it! Needless to say that the book provide a valuable dimension to my game live.
Phil Hellmuth is on the cover and wrote a short few pages here, and an introduction, but it does more for him than the fact that Navarro. Joe did not need Phil on the market for this book and if you thought the coverage was another blade, "I'm Phil Hellmuth monologue, it is not at all. Phil just connected with a writer much better, with a much more valuable content to offer the poker market.
