I have read, we can make good money building a website, say, poker, with lots of good info, and then, including referral links to poker rooms like Party Poker. com that you pay for each person who opens an account with them. I wonder - what is the potential amount of money to be made with such a partner site.
You can earn money doing good, but it depends on a number of factors:
1) How many visitors come to your website? Clearly, if your site only receives 10 visitors a day, it is unlikely that you sign up as many people.
2) Did you go for volume or quality? Some sites offer the opportunity to share life of the beneficiary or a player makes a pre-tax return (often around $ 75). If you are on a percentage of land and a whale you can get $ 600 a month or so off a guy. If you sign some players little time your commission could be less than $ 10 per month. I recommend share of revenue whenever possible, as a strong player can make thousands of dollars.
3) What is your site? There are literally thousands of sites trying to earn money this way. What unique perspective will you take to make people want to visit your site.
4) What is your presentation? Even if you made a good site with good traffic, what will you do to make people want to click on your links and register for a poker site online?
For me personally, I made the most money of PartyPoker.com. I also like FullTilt and PokerStars. I suggest a site well written, well presented with unique content. You need to run ads for several different poker sites, because that way if someone is already a member, you can convince them to sign for another. But do not make your site look like a bunch of ads, trying to make subtle or present them as a test, something like that.
If you have a quality site occupied and sign a lot of people there is no reason to think that you can not make a few thousand per month.
