Irish Poker Championship

Online poker site Poker Plex is running a super satellite promotion to the Irish Open in 2010. The Main Event will be held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin between April 1st and 5th April 2010.

The Irish Poker Open is the oldest tournament No Limit Texas Hold'em poker in Europe and the second longest in the world after the World Series of Poker and is traditionally held on Easter weekend each year in Dublin, a city known for a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Recent winners of the 2007 Irish Open Champion Marty Smyth include winning the aぎ 650,000 first prize to win Roland DeWolfe head on a final table that also included phenomena online tournament Sorrel Mizzi. Smyth and DeWolfe were later to win the WSOP Championship bracelets.

In 2008, Irish Open Main Event was won by English poker pro Neil Channing, who won the award winner of aぎ 801.400 after beating local favorite Donal Norton heads up.

More recently in 2009 Irish Open Main Event was won by the Swede Christer Johansson professional, who has won a aぎ 600,000 in first. He defeated the British-Canadian Kara Scott and Canadian professional Andrew Pantling after a duel epic final table.

The 2010 Irish Open Super Satellites will take place every Sunday at 19:30, each offering a package worth $ 7,200 (aぎ 4,800), including:

• aぎ 3.200 + aぎ 300 buy-in for the Main Event.
• aぎ 350 for 5 night stay, including breakfast at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. (31st March - 6 April).
• aぎ 100 towards Group / Lounge.
• aぎ 50 fee.
• aぎ 800 for flights and spending money.
