I argued with a debt ultimatebet.com and now they threaten to introduce me to a collection agency. Seeing as how they are based outside the U.S., and online gaming is illegal in the United States, which gives them the flexibility of a legal collection agency coming after me for a debt illegal?

Well, if you played online through a company outside the U.S. are the chance (no matter what is illegal in the U.S.), you are still responsible to pay these people. When you enter information such as your credit card number, name and address etc., you are agreeing to pay in full to this company the money you owe. If you owe money to this company, what sense does it make for you to challenge something that you are at fault for? Credit Bureau are all going to investigate the situation and through it back in your face and you have permitted this to happen on your own. It would be logical if you are overloaded and you are disputing the debt, but through your question, it seems that you are trying to get out of paying these people. They have the right to report you to eBay as a collector organization can do the same thing when you owe them a certain sum of money. The countries have nothing to do with it. I once heard that in some countries, people under 21 years are able to drink. Do you think that since it is illegal to drink under 21 years in America the cops going to take a drink of 18 years in this country in particular? I do not think so!
