Hold Em Poker Table Tops

Hold Em Poker Table TopsWhat should I consider when choosing between an octagonal poker table and a table-style Texas Hold Em?

I want to buy a poker table or table for my husband, but know very little about the game what is the best to play poker at home with "the guys"? The classical poker table or elongated and Texas Hold Em table style, is it a matter of preference or what the shape of the table actually means something?

I have a poker club in Arkansas for more than 3 years, and I found that the more you can get a round table, the better.

With an octagon, everyone can see the cards and dealing is easier, and raking chips (win a hand) is easier.

An oval table, it is difficult for the players at the end to see the cards, deal the cards, and reap a pot.

The only way an oval table would be a good use if the guy had a full time dealer who was sitting in the middle of the table and was in control of the match. This rarely happens with "the guys". Usually, each person takes turns dealing.

On a side note, I recommend buying your husband two sets of plastic cards. They last forever! If you spill liquid on them, they can be removed and they still work! You can even wash them in your dishwasher. They are called "Copag" or "Kem" Maps.

The problem I have with the octagon is the availability and affordability. There are a few tables octagon really well there, but they are so beautiful they are very expensive. When I worked at Sears, we have sold a good that was about $ 300. They are cheap (around $ 20) Trays available that you put on your kitchen table or a table of regular play, but on the flip side, they are really cheap. They are a bit better than the cheap cardboard down a green stickers on them and low prices that outline where the flop, turn and river should go. Good for children, not for humans!

Like the other guy said, the ovals have some drawbacks, but you can get really nice for under $ 100. If you have a Dick's Sporting Goods in your area, I know at least the last two seasons (I'm assuming that this season too) at Christmas time, they have a table that they normally sell for $ 99 are as good market only $ 69. Now, this picture is not casino quality, but for 70 or 80 dollars is a pretty picture. A soft felt top, padded ring around the outside and tough as all get out. Definitely the way to go if you're on a budget.

But in reality, your husband will be very happy to have one of you. A woman who is in favor of her husband, playing poker is a gift enough for any poker player, I promise.

Goodluck.
