Gambling CounselorsRecognizing a gambling problem?

I have a friend who has lost a lot of money in recent weeks, up to $ 2,000 games. I realize it makes a good income (almost 6 digits), but $ 2,000 (1k each) seems a lot. In consideration of what is a gambling (most of my experience is in alcohol and drug abuse, I used to be a counselor), what should I look?

My name is "genocide" and I struggled with addiction in my life - alcohol, drugs and gambling (I thought). Here are some ideas that might help:

After I really thought my game, I finally realized I did not have a gambling problem, even if I keep losing a ton of money. You see, for me, the consumption of alcohol or drugs could be done by themselves and were "comfortable". The game, however, was not pleasant, even useful to me if I drank. My family and my friends thought I was addicted, but yet I was still drunk when I got the itch to play. When I was sitting around sober, I never felt I had to pull over to a casino and gamble, but I wanted to tear at the liquor store, though! So first I would like to assess the mental state of your friend (sober?) When he loses that money. Does he drink each time? If so, it could be alcohol, which pushes the influence on the game as it did for me.

The next thing you can do is throw the fact that the game is supposed to be fun, and they will just build more sparingly, as this is just for fun. If he says something to the tune of "we do not give me that" cutting edge, so it's a good sign of a problem, as users seek drugs and alcohol for race it should be players.

Finally, if you hear of him as "I am because this time," or "I get my money" or other excuses like that, then it is a sign of a problem (error Player retirement, man, I'm always "right"). His answer was not to be in a defensive tone, either, as he can joke like "I'll get those SOB's", but he'll be laughing as he says, trying not to get people on what is really angry. Anyway, these comments are a sure sign.

These are just a few things I learned about myself, and also to see my friends bosses. If you are looking for these signs, we hope that you will at least give an idea of where your friend is. Good luck.

pleased to have helped.
