What a football pool? MSN Encarta defines one as "a game where the participants, co-workers generally bet on the outcome of a college or university, or professional football games . The paris collected are pooled and shared among the winners.

There are several ways to set up a football pool. Here is one that is very easy to implement:

Decide how you will be charged per square kilometer. Usually $ 1.00 per seat for a total pot of $ 100.00.

Decide how you will pay the pot. The most common is to pay something to the end of each quarter. You may want to percent of the pot will be paid each time. For example, 25% after the 1st quarter, 25% after the 2nd quarter and so on up to 100% of the pot is paid.

Decide how winners will be determined. A very common is to use the "last number" method. Basically you use the last digits of the score of each team and find where these numbers intersect on the grid. "Sell" places on the grid until all 100 squares are filled with the name of the buyer. Buyers can buy multiple tickets.

After all the squares are filled with names, numbers draw that will be filled in the upper and lower left side of the grid. The creation of 10 small squares of paper, then write a number (from zero to 9) on each. Fold 10 squares and put them into something to draw from a hat. Choose someone to draw a number at a time and fill in the top from left to right. Bend your back and do the same for the left side, top to bottom. When you are finished, the numbers are in random order.
