Casino Black Jack 21 Counting cards in blackjack 21 - Return counting Advantages and Disadvantages Back counting Back counting, also known as "wonging", consists of standing behind a blackjack table that other players play on, and count the cards as they are processed. Stanford Wong was the idea of counting back, and the term "wong" from its name. The player enters or "Wong" for the game when the counter reaches a point where the player has an advantage. The player can then increase their paris increasing their party, or reduce their advantage paris down. Some back-office prefer flat-bet, and only bet the same amount once they entered the game. Some players will stay at the table until the game is mixed, or they can "Wong," to leave or when the counter reaches a level where they no longer have an advantage. Back counting is usually done on the sets of shoes, 4, 6 or 8 games, although it can be done about the games up to 1 or 2 bridges. The reason is that the count is more stable in a set of shoes, if a player is less likely to sit for one or both hands, then stand up. In addition, many casinos do not permit "entry to mid-shoe" in deck games, which makes single or double wonging impossible. Another reason is that many casinos have more to thwart card counters their playground games on their shoes, as a counter has a small advantage over a set of shoes on average in a game high. [Edit] Advantages Back counting is different from the traditional card counting, in that the player does not play every hand he sees. This offers several advantages. On the one hand, the player does not play hands in which it has no statistical advantage. This reduces the variance and fluctuation, and increases the total benefit of the player. Another benefit is that the player did not change their size as leverage, or at least if they wish. Wide variations in the size of bets are a way that the casinos to detect card counters, which is eliminated with the back of counting. [Edit] Disadvantages There are several disadvantages to counting back. The first is that the player does not often stay at the table long enough to obtain the compositions of the casino. Another drawback is that some players may become angry with the players coming in the middle of a game, and superstitiously believe that interrupts the "flow" of cards.
