Question on software for learning poker? I played poker online for almost 2 years. I'm an average player, not make money on it. Me keep a spreadsheet of my wins / losses, etc, last year I lost a total of $ 187 and this year I'm down $ 10 USD for nearly 11 months of play.
year, my biggest downfall last played the $ 1 sit and gos and multi tournaments for $ 1 or $ 2 each, I cut the tournaments and sit and gos to maybe 1 per day to reduce losses to down or keep the money and accumulate.
I have read many articles and books, but I know that my biggest problem is that I'm too tight;
I know that there are "tons" of software there, but I'm looking for something along the lines of a "teaching" me how to play properly.
namely, blackjack, when you practice, it will tell you if, after two strokes, splitting, doubling that Stategy tells you the correct play to do vs. the dealership.
I am going to Las Vegas in a few weeks and want to play poker limit, I would like to find a program that tells me the correct set of boundary
I do not think the software is necessarily what you need. You just need to keep practicing.
My advice is to play online at Poker Stars for money games. Something that does not matter. Learn to release your game tight Play hurt your profits, because you'll become too predictable. There will come a time when smart players simply fold when they see you enter a pot. So you wait around for aces and kings, and when you try to play all you win is the blinds.
I do not think you should be reducing the tournament sit and go well. They are a good way to earn money with minimal risk. Unfortunately $ 1 Sit n Go is much to enter. You pay 20 cents just to play. This is 20% of your registration fee. Compare that to a $ 25 tournament with an entry fee of $ 2. Only 8% rake.
If you have a small bank roll you can not afford to move, but I would say that the tournament microstakes not worth the investment. If you come 3rd, you can plainly 60c. If you come in second you net $ 1.50. Even the first place nets only $ 3.30.
If you can afford to spend $ 5 tournaments rake ago just 10%, half of the effective rake of $ 1 tournaments.
So maybe if you loosen your play a little tournament and go up $ 5, you can do better simply because of the low inclination.
That said, expect to find some play really loose in Las Vegas, so that your game tight can actually be profitable as long as you do not become too predictable.
The problem with learning poker with your own money is the thought of it may therefore not make the right decision.
However there are many poker sites that give you real money to play with, without having to file. There are conditions to this, it is essential to play loads of hands. But for your situation should not be a problem.
Take a look at the offer http://free-bankroll.co.uk
Also try to play a variety of games, I have more success playing 1 on 1 tournaments and "Double your money" tournament.
