Black Jack Roof Coating I applied Blackjack bundles roofing few days and it is blistering. What now? My friend and I covered (brushed) his blanket roll (1 layer) with Jack Black fibered roof coating (black). Its roof is flat with a slope of 15 degrees from top to bottom. Its roof is leaking and it rained 2 days before, we covered the top. The roof was dry when we started. The temperature range was 45-85 with some morning dew. It was a couple of days and the coating is blistering ... small vesicles that just seem to contain air. Is it possible the moisture below the surface of the roof trying to escape? It had been dry for a month before the day of the rain that preceded our project, and dry since. Is it the morning dew is a problem? More importantly, is it ruined, or can deploy the blisters with a rubber roller or something? I wonder how long it takes to cure the coating and, as it seems a bit soft for walking. All suggestions will be appreciated. there was moisture on the roof just enough to develop under the ground when the roof has warmed, the creation of bistering, you can try to delete areas blisered and reapply after a few dry days and at the end of 'afternoon. The lights do not adhere to these areas to ride is unnecessary Posted on February 12, 2010.
