IRC is -2 times the number of bridges. Thus, the table defines the IRC here. The Red Seven has an easy to remember IRC.

For example, say you are in a six deck shoe. Count running (IRC) is 6 x -2. This means that the IRC is -12. Now imagine that you see the cards played. You translate each card in its value, then add this amount to the total running. When you have a number of high count running, there are more than ten cards in the deck. At this point, you realize that the odds are in your favor.
